"Learn to play the five string banjo quick and easy."
This website will give the beginner student some of the tools needed to start learning the in's and out's of the banjo, a fun fast paced bluegrass instrument. Ron designed this site for his students to use at home to reinforce their weekly lessons being taught. For more than twenty years he has instructed beginner to intermediate students in learning to play the banjo and mandolin. The songs on the lessons page are arranged for beginning students written with tablature to accommodate their level of skill. Most of the Tabs are written using "TABLEDIT" a free program, and all related audio files are MP3's.
The music files are here to provide a library of Instrumental, Gospel, and Tradition bluegrass tunes I have enjoyed playing over the years as well as the hours spent in the recording studio. All the instruments are played by me alone as well as the lead and back up vocals. While not recorded in a professional studio I consider them Demo quality. All content on this site is free, remembering back to a fifteen year old farm boy that had no money but a huge desire to play a banjo.
